Del Monte to be bought by KKR again? He loves me, he loves me not. He loves me...

Twenty years ago, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company bought, then quickly sold, Del Monte Foods Company as part of its binging and purging of RJR Nabisco.

Now, it is being reported that KKR might be interested in buying back the company that produces everything from Contadina canned tomatoes to Milk-Bone dog biscuits.

The 100+ year old company is one of the country's largest and most well-known producers, distributors and marketers of premium quality, branded food and pet products for the U.S. retail market, generating approximately $3.7 billion in net sales in fiscal 2010.
