From the Frito Pie to Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos—if you’ve got the munchies, we’ve got the meal.

Last month, RockyMcG and I traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico for the first THE FIVE Official Offsite (TFOO). While there we were introduced to a local delicacy, the Frito Pie. It is made with chili, cheese, Fritos Corn chips (of course), all served up in a Fritos bag. Yes, they put the chili inside of a bag of chips.

Now comes word that the Frito Pie is getting a kissin’ cousin in Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos.

In this new variation on the Frito Pie, Taco Bell worked with the Frito-Lay brand to make the taco shell out of Doritos, and then placed the taco inside a Doritos branded wrapper (almost a bag).

The Doritos Locos Tacos will be officially introduced next month, in what CEO Greg Creed calls "…definitely the biggest launch in Taco Bell history."

Taco Bell has reportedly built four factory lines specifically to make the shell, with 60 million stocked up for the March 8th launch.

The taco shells will come in Nacho Cheese flavor shells, with other Dorito flavors (there are 123) to potentially be added later.

Got a case of the munchies yet?
