General Motors has been shedding brands as it re-tools itself for the 21st Century. Remember Saturn? Pontiac? Hummer? Saab?
Now comes word that GM is killing its Goodwrench brand in the United States.
Also known as "Mr. Goodwrench," the brand has been around since the mid-70's as a marketing program to promote centralized maintenance and repair of its many automotive brands. Goodwrench will be replaced with more brand-specific labels, such as Chevrolet Certified Service, Buick Certified Service, Cadillac Certified Service and GMC Certified Service.
