Starbucks has established itself as a great place to get coffee drinks, but it has struggled a bit when it comes to its baked goods. That may change once La Boulange starts supplying bakery items to its stores. Starbucks purchased San Francisco-based La Boulange last year for a cool $100 million.
Starting next Tuesday at 6 am La Boulange products will be offered to all 420 Bay Area Starbucks, and rolled-out to Starbucks in every other major U.S. city within a few months, and every store across the country by the end of the year.
This is a big deal for Starbucks and La Boulange—who will be increasing its baked goods deliveries from 140,000 weekly customers to the 40 million who frequent Starbucks. Its great news for Starbucks customers who will get a major upgrade with warm sandwiches and piadinis, salads and all sorts of baked treats.
