Beach Shack Serves up Coffee and Design.

Growing up near the coast in Southern California, the surf-culture and a beach lifestyle was pretty much all I knew. Beach shacks selling sodas and ice cream were common haunts. But no soda shack ever looked as architecturally stunning as the Third Wave Kiosk at Torquay—near Melbourne, Australia. Taking a concrete block structure, then wrapping it in recycled sheet piles creates a wave-like sculpture which is visually appealing and fits right into the natural landscape, and has made it a landmark for the town.
