PRO PORTRAIT: Photographer Lloyd Revald Never Stops Exploring.

Lloyd Revald is an 18 year-old, self-taught photographer in Denmark who says that photography allows him to create exactly what he is feeling at a particular moment—it is his way to tell the story of his feelings. Lloyd loves to explore and travel, and being outdoors. His work demonstrates his love of nature, simplicity, stories, art and design. He is clearly passionate about photography and the story behind a photo.

"I feel that photography is a way to express my feelings, telling who I am, what I think and at the same time a way to show the world what I find interesting & exciting. - I find inspiration in my own life, nature, art and music."

Lloyd says using the camera as a vehicle to expressing his emotions is a good way to get out of the normal “everyday/comfortable life”. “I feel that life is getting ‘to normal and to comfortable’ sometimes - so much that we forget what we actually are doing. His photography is a way to freeze special moments, and bring stories into photographs.

Searching for adventures and using his imagination is also part of the thrill of photography. “I try to, through my personal universe, bring the viewer into a world of existential reflections that are served with great beauty and well thought composition. I also try to communicate a message that the viewer is able to read visually as a fairytale. I want to show the world, my world, through photography and get people to stop and think about how they live.”

“There is a whole world out there. There are so many things to explore and learn, and that is maybe one of the reasons why I am, where I am, today.”

Lloyd sees simplicity as a key to his work and helps creates a better way of showing the main idea or concept, about a photograph. “I’m sure that you can get more out of a simple photograph than a messy photograph. You have to get rid of the unnecessary and only add the very best.”

While Lloyd is still in High School, it is hard to find time for photography—but he does. He also has a clear vision of what he wants from the world, and his place in it. “I believe that I can be who I want to be. That’s it. I believe that I can create what I want and be who I want to be. I truly believe that we, as humans, choose whom we want to be.”

“I want to be independent and be able to create history through my art -photography.  One of the things that I really want to achieve is being able to tell stories and share my experiences with others. I want to be able to travel the world and take photos of people from all over the world. Listen to what they have to tell, what their dreams are and what they fight for. I want to be able to share their stories and tell them through photographs but most importantly, be able to keep dreaming and keep searching for new adventures because the globe is full of unheard stories and undiscovered adventures.

As Lloyd says, “Never. Stop. Exploring.”
