SUNDAY IN SHORTS: Dr. Easy—an explosive tale of a robot negotiator.

We use robots to defuse bombs, and drone aircraft to target terrorists. But how about a robot to negotiate with a desperate gunman? Dr. Easy is a tale of a behaviorally-trained robot sent to negotiate with a desperate gunman who is holed-up in a house, armed with a double barrel shotgun, and already has had his tongue shot out by snipers by the time the negotiating robot arrives on the scene. The film was adapted from the opening chapter of the 2007 Matthew De Abaitua novel The Red Men.
