We have an amazing film for you on this edition of Sunday in Shorts. David Karlak’s The Candidate is one of the best live-action shorts we’ve seen all year. It is a mini-film at a very high level. The production quality, script and acting are fantastic. It’s worth every minute of the 19 minutes.
The story starts out focused on Burton Grunzer, the “company man” and his corporate nemesis, Whitman Hayes. But it is the shadowy “Society for United Action” that sets the tone of the film. You see, there is an organization who things they have figured out a way to kill someone with the mere power of thought. Ok, ok. That’s all I’m going to tell you. Enjoy the intrigue of The Candidate.
