Ohio-based identity designer Adam Ladd showed his 5-year-old daughter popular logos and asked her to comment on them. I think it is interesting that some well-known logos meant nothing to her--the Target logo was an "o" and others, like Apple, Chili's and GE were brands she could name. But most interesting was how she associated the logos with what the company offers--Starbucks was "the coffee company" and Xbox "controls the TV at Ryan's house."
