AUTOROTICA: Mini Cooper Goes Camping

Mini Cooper has three new concept vehicles for the more adventuresome driver. What started as an April Fool’s joke in 2012 has new evolved to the The Clubvan Camper, the Cowley Caravan, and the Countryman ALL4 Camp. The microcar Mini is definitely extending its concept to become a functional Mini home away from home.

They remind us of the idea behind the VW Westfalia’s of the 1970’s.

These Mini’s keep the luxury of home but downsize it, with one-person sleeping berths, pull-out kitchenettes, handheld showers and all sorts of goodies like onboard satellite navigation, TV, auxilliary heater and a small glass panel by the rear roof for stargazing while lying in the bed.

Even though these are still concept vehicles, they appear to have been thought-through in great detail. We hope that public demand will drive Mini to start manufacturing these for sale very soon.
