The Pebble Watch is about to get some competition. Wearable tech is the next big thing and Samsung, Sony and Apple know it.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear, a wristwatch-like smart-device will reportedly allow you to make phone calls, surf the Web and handle e-mails. Rumors about an Apple smart-watch are rampant as well.
But it is Sony that may have the most to gain by entering the market. Once the gadget leader, they’ve fallen by the wayside the last few years. As Bloomberg reports, the global watch industry will generate more than $60 billion in sales this year, and the first companies to sell devices that multitask could lock customers into their platform, boosting sales of smartphones, tablets and TVs.
Looks like we’ll all be wearing tech in the near future.
