With a powerful, universal theme, David Foster Wallace’s This is Water makes us think—consciously, day-in and day-out. He proposes living a “compassionate life.”—a theme worth revisiting on a daily basis.
David Foster Wallace was an award-winning novelist, essayist, short story writer and university professor. He took his own life at age 46 after struggling with depression for many years.
Three years before his death he gave the 2005 commencement speech at Kenyon College—a private liberal arts school in Gambier, Ohio. His speech resonated with the students, and grew over time into a published book, and now a video.
I’ll leave the rest of the story to you to uncover in this video—and listening to the haunting words of David Foster Wallace. This video is truly worth less than 10 minutes of your day.
