George Washington, Harriet Tubman and William Shakespere to help promote NBC TV show "The Cape"

George Washington, Harriet Tubman and William Shakespere will all don "capes" this week as part of a marketing effort to promote NBC's new series "The Cape," which tells the story of a city policeman who fights crime as a superhero.

Statues of these famous people, and others across the city will be draped in custom-made satin and silk capes. NBC has teamed up with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation for the promotion.

“This is an unprecedented campaign, one that pays homage to the city’s great heroes,” said Adam Stotsky, president of marketing at NBC Entertainment.
