Levi Strauss, Wells Fargo, Progressive Insurance and American Airlines were some of the brands recognized by GLAAD for ads featuring outstanding images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
The brands were feted during an Advertising Week event, with the top TV prize went to Levi's for a Gay History Month effort by Logo, and interactive honors to Wells Fargo for "The Advocate Money Minute" from here! Media, while the corporate-responsibility award was presented to longtime LGBT supporter American Airlines.
"While LGBT representation on TV continues to grow, the advertising industry has not yet fully embraced our community," said GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios. "Tonight's nominees and honorees have set new benchmarks in the industry and continue to lead the way in fair, accurate and inclusive LGBT representation in advertising."
