Mad Men Madness: Season Premiere Sparks Estee Lauder, Banana Republic, Mattel and Newsweek to jump on the 1960's Madison Avenue Bandwagon

The AMC hit show "Mad Men" is about to release a new season of shows after a 17-month hiatus. So, count on a lot of Mad-Men-Madness to be hitting the promotional aisles.

First up, we posted recently about a Mad Men-themed issue of Newsweek--blatantly blurring lines between advertiser-and-editorial. Now comes word of a new makeup line. The Estee Lauder Mad Men collection features a cherry-colored satin finish lipstick and a cream rouge in a color called evening rose. Both come packaged in gold-colored cases and boxes inspired by Estee Lauder designs from the '60s. 'cause who wouldn't like to look like Betty Draper and Joan Harris.

But wait, there's more. Banana Republic is launching a 40-piece capsule collection designed by the set`s costume designer Janie Bryant as well. This is the second collaboration between Mad Men and BR, and is said to feature "classic (and super-flattering) retro shapes: Nipped-in waists, shrunken cardigans, and pencil capris for women; tailored blazers and fitted polos for men."Both the Estee Lauder and Banana Republic line are set to launch in March to coincide with the season premiere. Oh, and did we mention the Barbie Collector Mad Men Dolls (or are they so 2010?)

To get you in the mood to go shopping, take a look at a couple of sneak peak videos for the new Mad Men season. We think Don Draper would approve.

And, here's a video from The Hollywood Reporter on the Banana Republic line: "It's been a fantastic experience working with Janie again on this new spring capsule," says Simon Kneen, creative director of Banana Republic. "We continually find fresh ways to reimagine stylish work wear for our customers. Spring delivers a whole new palette and gave us an excuse to draw from different scenes and wardrobe from the show as inspiration."
