Nike is using holographic 3-D advertising to promote their new “Free” running shoe. The first-of-their-kind ads, which are running in outdoor locations in Amsterdam, project a holographic image demonstrating the key feature of the shoe—its flexibility. Nike Free shoes are specifically designed to let your feet move more naturally and freely than traditional athletic shoes. Over time, this helps make your feet stronger.
The hologram shows the shoe bending forward and back to simulate its flexibility. The ads sit in a Holocube box, which is transparent so people can see the shoe from all angles, and brightly lit to attract attention of passersby—day or night.
