With so many web devices in people’s hands all over the globe the ability for your website to render correctly across all technology platforms is crucial for conversions. Using responsive web design is not only our suggestion for any new website builds occurring today but also Google’s.
Recently Google has made some important recommendation for using responsive design. Here is a quote directly from the source:
What is responsive design?
“Responsive web design is a technique to build web pages that alter how they look using CSS3 media queries. That is, there is one HTML code for the page regardless of the device accessing it, but its presentation changes using CSS media queries to specify which CSS rules apply for the browser displaying the page.”
The world now has tablets, smartphones, desk top computers and everything in between. With so much activity across multiple technologies your business should never run into the situation where a potential customer or client cannot view your website due to technology limitations within the coding of a website.

Google offers three different configuration options:
“When building a website that targets smartphones, Google supports three different configurations:
- Sites that use responsive web design, i.e. sites that serve all devices on the same set of URLs, with each URL serving the same HTML to all devices and using just CSS to change how the page is rendered on the device. This is Google’s recommended configuration.
- Sites that dynamically serve all devices on the same set of URLs, but each URL serves different HTML (and CSS) depending on whether the user agent is a desktop or a mobile device.
- Sites that have a separate mobile and desktop sites.”
