Well, CBS has created a variation on this theme by stamping a digital green leaf insignia onto ads that feature products whose companies are backing environmentally friendly projects.
CBS' EcoAd program already has Chevrolet, Safeway, PG&E, and O Organics among many others who have signed up to be green-leafed. The program stretches across CBS platforms, including network and local television, radio, outdoor and online.
Being green-leaf worthy can mean that the brands are sponsoring environmental projects, such as solar installations, energy efficiency retrofits of schools and buildings and affordable housing.
A portion of the dollars spent on the EcoAds will go toward funding environmental and clean energy projects.
